Can the average joe afford a Lamborgini or do you have to be a celebrity or athlete with a lot of money ?
Tuesday, October 6th, 2009
A new Lamborghini Gallardo is running around $190,000. An average Joe making $40,000/year could potentially buy this car with enough discipline, but it would take serious sacrifices in all other financial aspects of his life.
A 6 year car loan on $190,000 would have a payment of about $3,000/month. After taxes on the income, that is more than Joe is making. So clearly a traditional car loan will not work here.
There are 2 ways I can see this happening:
1) Joe can save his money like no man has saved money ever before. If he can live off of $15,000 (share a small apartment, eat lots of noodles, never eat out, never buy anything he doesn’t absolutely need) and save $15,000/year **assuming $10,000 taxes** invested wisely at 10% interest, Joe can have his $190,000 in about 9 years. Or he could probably afford to buy the car with a large downpayment and a 6 year car loan after about 5 years.
2) Joe can refinance his house to buy the car. If Joe has built up a lot equity over the years in his house, he could refinance his mortgage to buy the car and effectively pay it off over the next 20-30 years with a much higher mortgage payment. There are many people who have gained alot of equity in recent years in their house, so many average Joes today could probably pull this off.
I wouldn’t recommend either of those options, but they are doable. My own priorities put a higher standard of living and/or a younger retirement age before buying an overpriced car. But I imagine that there are many Joes out there who are car crazy and NEED the nicest car possible. How much are you willing to sacrifice to have some nice wheels?

could someone describe in detail the differences between driving a ferrari versus a lamborgini?
Sunday, October 4th, 2009
The ferrari is very fast and the ride is stiff.
The Lambo ride is softer and much slower, as it is usually sitting on a transport truck on its way to the garage.

Can i afford Lamborgini Gallardo Spyder Which is about $240,000 MSRP?
Saturday, October 3rd, 2009We got a gas station in MO and my monthly income from in is arround $30,000- $40 grand. I would like to know can i afford lamborgini Gal, Spyder in those bling bling? Do dealers have finance kind of thing? And what is usually the down payment… Please advise…
You should NOT use your income to determine whether or not you can afford something…you should use your net worth to determine that. So….
* Do you have your house paid off?
* Have you have a 6 month emergency fund? Are you covered if you should (heaven forbid) become hospitalized, injured or otherwise unable to work?
* Do you have a retirement fund set up for security in your old age? With that income and a plan to set aside a regular amount, it should be at least 6 figures in size.
When you have these things taken care of, then feel free to blow your money on a car the price of a house. If you don’t, it may be time to grow up and take care of business first before you start to play.
With that type of income, are you debt free? In other words, are you living within your means?
What is more expensive and what is better, Ferrari or Lamborgini?
Friday, October 2nd, 2009
Well, let’s take a moment, and consider how absurd your question is.
Each of those companies have hundreds of vehicles that they have produced.
All of those vehicles have different specs and costs.
So, you can’t just say Ferrari and Lamborghini, as those are COMPANIES, and not individual cars.
Also, consider that they’re two separate companies. So, even if you take two 2009 vehicles, with similar prices, it’s absurd to assume that they have similar specs, and can be compared to each other.
And even if you do manage to decide to compare them anyway, you completely failed to specify what qualifies as "better". Are you talking performance, value, storage space, fuel economy, color choices……the thousands of other aspects that could be compared?
So, go back, sit down, and put some thought into what you actually want to find out.
And once you do, look it up on Google, and find the answer yourself.

what is your favorite farrari or a lamborgini?
Thursday, October 1st, 2009mine is the farrari!
both companies have been making various models for 40+ years. Lamborghini is currently producing 2 models, each of which have several variations. Ferrari makes 4 or so models right now.
Saying which you like better is like asking what you like more: Sandwiches or salads, disregarding the fact that there are good sandwiches and bad sandwiches, and they have tastes that range all over the place. Same with salads.
Out of all of the cars either have made, my favorite would probably be something like a p3/4 ferrari. Lamborghini Miuras are also awesome.
