Why do Honda drivers with woofers act like they are driving a Ferrari?

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

I always notice lots of guys in these tore up Honda’s with those annoying Woofer’s *I think that’s what they are called* driving around like they are in a Ferrari? Not only are their driving habits annoying, but the sound of their car should be illegal. Sounds sooooo Ghetto! I just don’t see anything cool about it. I really don’t get it, what is the point of having these cars, is it cause they can’t afford a true sports car, so they just fantazise and pretend with those little cars?

they bought the car it belongs to them as long as its not illegal they can do whatever they like to the car.

Some lights are illegal and some adapted locomotive horns that I have seen are very much illegal but the sound systems, wheels, body kits, etc etc are just fine

everyone has a right to an opinion and everyone has the same right to do whatever they like to their own property regardless of what others may think

History of Sports Cars and Why is it Desired by Many

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Sports Car may be defined as a car with a sporty look, meaning an automobile which is short in height as compared to other cars to the extent that it almost touches the ground, having a powerful engine and light weight. A typical sports car has two seats, two doors, rear-wheel drive and with high speed. It is in fact a speedy car that needs to be handled quite efficiently and accurately. There are a number of popular companies that manufacture a perfect sports car like Ferrari, BMW’s mid-sized sports car, Porsche, Lotus etc. However a sports car consists of a light-weight powerful engine with ultra modern suspension and a firm chassis due to these features the sports car that is light weight performs more accurately as compared to heavy sports cars. Initially the cars were just considered an important mode of transport for carrying people and goods from one place to the other, and were manufactured to provide its core utility of transporting the people with comfort. Later on these cars soon became a craze amongst the people and a great fascination to drive it with speed and race, apart from its basic usefulness. This was the new era to welcome the sports cars. The trend of sports car started after the Second World War when a new class of sports car was introduced. Initially a very expensive luxury car meant only for the rich and the famous personalities was seen on race tracks are now available with road functionalities and with reasonable pricing structure. There were just a few cars in the historical phase but now these cars are easily obtainable to a normal individual. Enzo Ferrari was the first person design the sports car, in 1929. Then he was followed by many other car designers who started a new age of Sports Car. Ferrari’s entire unit used advanced technologies and modifications and emerged out in the whole world to create a history by manufacturing the Formula One Racing Car, which is an obsession now and will remain in future. The most eligible and fantastic drivers for formula one are Michael Schumacher and Alberto Ascari, who promoted the Ferrari Sports Car to success. Then came the F430 became quite popular due to its performance and affordable pricing structure, after which Superamerica became the most desired of all the Sports Cars. Any individual is first attracted by outer looks and then by its performance, same applies for cars too, so the designers and the manufacturers with a lot of hardwork and efforts introduced a car for racing against its competitors, this further triggered the development of cars for the next generation. It was a great risk to manufacture a speedy car with powerful engine with advanced technologies to improve its speed performance. Highly powerful engine with great speed was fixed into the light weight body of the car which was a great risk to the drivers as it needed to be handled most efficiently. Then came the thought for its safety where the designers worked hard and adopted certain modifications to set limitations on the speed and things like emergency brakes and suspension restrictions were added. However with the advanced technologies and great techniques a perfect sports car was ready on tracks. Day-by-day the possession for Sports Car has become a rising trend in the market. It may be due to one or all of the following reasons to drive a person to posses a Sports Car. – Its Fabulous Looks: The trendiest design of the Sports Car may e one of the reasons that more and more buyers are going crazy for it. – Functionality: Functionality and the car performance should be the most vital aspect to be considered while purchasing a Sports model. Sports Car is designed to give the best performance with regards to speed. Thus the experience a driver gets while driving a Sports Car is beyond words. – Pleasure and Thrill: Driving a Sports Car is an amazing feeling as it gives you immense pleasure and the thrill you are craving for. The fun while racing a Sports Car is just incomparable with racing any other car. – Status Symbol: Possessing a Sports Car often gives you an image of a high class status symbol, as it looks more of a luxury item than an automobile for transport. You seem to look like an adventurous personality who likes to explore new things. – Depreciation Value: Any car when purchased decreases in its value with increasing time period but surprisingly for Sports Car this is completely opposite, the value of the Sports Car increases with increasing time period! In simple words owning a sports car reflects the car owner’s personality and also shows how adventurous and trendy you are.

Honda’s Frustrations at Bahrain Grand Prix

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

The 15th of April is the day that the 2007 Bahrain Grand Prix was held at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, Bahrain. The race is the third round of the 2007 Formula One season and it is also where team Honda suffered a frustrating race with only one driver making it to the checkered flag.

This year’s Bahrain Grand Prix was won by the Brazilian Felipe Massa who was driving for the Scuderia Ferrari. Podium finishers include the rookie Lewis Hamilton driving for McLaren Mercedes at second, and Finn Kimi Raikkonen driving for Ferrari in third place. After the race in Bahrain, Hamilton set a record by becoming the first Formula One driver to ever have achieved podium finishes on his first three races as a Formula One driver.

While Ferrari and McLaren Mercedes are enjoying success at the 2007 Formula One season, team Honda is currently suffering a frustrating start to the 2007 season.

During the 2007 Bahrain Grand Prix, a four-vehicle accident eliminated Honda’s Jenson Button from the contention. After the said accident which involved David Coulthard, Adrian Sutil, Scott Speed and Button, Honda faced the fact that they have only a car remaining in the race. At the opening lap of the race, Jenson Button accidentally hit the back of David Coulthard’s car. After that, his car’s anti-stall mechanism failed stopping the engine which forces Button to retire during the early stage of the race. Honda’s other driver is former Ferrari driver Rubens Barrichello.

After the Honda bumper or the nose of the Barrichello’s F1 car crossed the finish line, the team only managed to grab a 13th place finish at the race. The savvy veteran used a two-stop strategy during the race which saw him battling it out in the tracks with Ralf Schumacher. His subsequent finish allowed Honda technicians to gather date concerning his and Button’s cars. The data gathered will be used by the team’s engineers to improve their performance on the next race of the season.

After the race, Rubens Barrichello has this to say about his performance and what he thinks the future holds for the team: “Well I finished the race at least but that s very little consolation. The track conditions were so blustery and the car driveability was terrible, so it was a really tough race, especially knowing that we couldn’t be competitive. Now we have to put a disappointing few races behind us and look to what we can do to improve the car. There is a great deal of hard work ahead of us but we will get there, I m sure.”

As far as his performance and early exit, Jenson Button has this to say: “Got a good start and made up at least three places then at turn 2 Taku (Sato) ran wide, tried to squeeze me and I had nowhere to go so I had to go on the dirt on the inside. Then in turn 3 I had Coulthard and someone else fighting around me. DC went wide then cut back sharp and again I had nowhere to go. We touched and that spun me round then the anti-stall didn’t cut in, I stalled and that was the end of my race after just three corners.”

“The track conditions out there were very slippery and windy so it will have been a tough race for everyone,” Button says of the track. “Sadly, I wasn’t part of it,” lamented Button.

After the 2007 Bahrain Grand Prix, the teams will have a four-week break before the next race, the 2007 Spanish Grand Prix. Honda will be using that time improves their car’s performance which they hope will earn them a podium finish at the next race.

On the 13th of May, the team’s engineer’s efforts to improve Button’s and Barrichello’s cars will be put to the ultimate test as they battle with Spanish Fernando Alonso of McLaren and the rest of the Formula One roster.

An Exiting Formula 1 Weekend In Spain; For The Wrong Reasons

Monday, October 12th, 2009

As the Formula 1 procession finally reached its first European leg, merchandise producers, sponsors and fans will have been extremely pleased with what was an extremely exciting weekend in Spain; sadly for the wrong reasons. Ferrari’s premier driver, Kimi Raikkonen managed to convert his pole position into a race win in what can only be described as a race of attrition. The Finnish driver was the eighth consecutive driver to convert a pole to a win in Spain; seemingly the Circuit de Catalunya is a race that is predominantly won by those who achieve the best time in qualifying.

The Iceman, the name given to the machine-like driver from Finland managed to cope easily with two race car periods, shaking off any challenge from team-mate Felipe Massa and rival Lewis Hamilton. The weekend saw Ferrari dominate, much as they had expected to; a fact that team sponsors and merchandise suppliers will be happy about. Main rivals McLaren were not able to compete with the pace of the Ferrari cars in either qualifying or during the race, something that will be worrying McLaren’s team boss, Ron Dennis.

McLaren sponsors, merchandise producers and fans will not be completely disheartened however; Lewis Hamilton, despite qualifying in fifth managed to convert this mediocre placing into a podium position at the end of the race. After two nightmare Formula 1 weekends for Hamilton in Malaysia and Bahrain, this return to form will be comforting, the question still remains however if the McLaren will be fast enough to match the pace of the seemingly unbeatable car from Modena. Currently the driver standings have Raikkonen leading the championship by nine points over rival Hamilton, as the procession moves on to Turkey, the British team will be undergoing further strategic changes to compete with Ferrari.

The major talking point of the weekend however was not the racing. Heikki Kovalainen, McLaren’s other driver experienced a malfunction at approximately one hundred and eighty miles and hour causing him to career into the tyre wall at an estimated one hundred and forty miles an hour. The driver’s merchandise suppliers, sponsors and fans may have been worried that this huge crash could have ruined Heikki’s season. Fortunately the excellent safety systems in his car undoubtedly saved his life. Despite being carried away on a stretcher and taken to a nearby hospital, reports state that he has been released after precautionary checks were made. Amazingly the modern Formula 1 driver can crash at almost 150 mph and endure nothing more than slight whiplash and a headache.

The crash naturally lead to the safety car being deployed as the clean up operation was commenced. This seriously affected Nick Heidfeld’s race as he had only just taken the lead and as he had to pit while the safety car was still out. As a result, the penalty that he was forced to take meant losing what could have been a high placed finish. The German’s fan base, sponsors and merchandise suppliers will have been somewhat upset by the development, so far this year he has put in some decent performances and currently stands fifth in the championship. But these things happen in Formula 1, Hamilton had experienced similar occurrences of misfortune in the past and seemingly this bad fortune is just passed around the Formula 1 teams.

After a race that will be remembered more for the crash of Kovalainen rather than an outstanding driving performance from Raikkonen, merchandise producers, team backers and sponsors will be hoping for more exemplary racing in Turkey. Despite being in a slower car, Hamilton arguably had the best race, it is clear that the effortless control of the Ferrari is paying dividends while the rest of the pack struggle to keep all four wheels on the track. In the heat of Turkey the Formula 1 fraternity will be hoping for more exciting racing, and a high level of driver skill.

When is the next Ferrari supercar coming?

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Does anybody know what Ferrari’s plans are for the next 2 years? I thought they were planning a successor to the Enzo? What about Porsche, werent they suppossed to have a new Le Mans racer coming out? Why arent they releasing anything?

Ferrari is making a new car that is slower than the Ferrari F430 next year. It will compete with the Porsche 911 Carrera S, Audi R8, and BMW M6.

The successor to the Enzo will probably come out in at least 2 years.

Porsche stopped the Carrera GT in 2006. It will be while until the next Porsche Supercar. The GT2 is the latest Porsche supercar and it is faster than the Carrera GT.

Im looking to get a 1996-98 Ferrari 355 . Is this a Ferrari that can if needed be an everyday driver ca?

Friday, October 9th, 2009

I’ve heard that some of the exotics are not meant to be driven slow like the way you can drive your Honda to work..That they need to be driven hard in order to keep that motor in order..Is this true Ferrari owners? Another question when is this car suposed to be serviced for oil changes and how much do those cost you?

Oil changes every 3,000 miles. Use only 5w-40 Synthetic oil, preferably Shell. Should run you $200 or so.

Do a "major service" every 5 years OR 30,000 miles, the timing belts don’t last longer than that. The car will get a valve adjustment, water pump if needed, sparkplugs, etc etc. Be sure the shop you take it to knows how to degree in the cams…the factory timing marks can be incorrect on those engines. Major services run $5000-$8000 on that car.

The exhaust manifolds burning through are a known problem on EVERY 355. You’ll want to take it for a thorough pre-purchase inspection to ensure the car is running well, bad running can be a sign the manifolds need replacement (which is an engine-out ordeal). Most owners do the manifolds during a major service just because.

I’d get a manual car, not the F1, if you don’t want to be taking your car to the dealer all the time. The F1 needs Ferrari’s special scantool to do any adjustments, which usually only dealers have.

I’d actually get a 99 or newer, the fuel injection system is better. But the 95-98 cars are still an excellent option.

To answer the question, they are a very comfortable and intuitive car to drive, a good daily driver if you don’t mind the required maintenance. You do need to "thrash" them once in a while, they live for being driven hard, so be sure you take it for extended periods above 80 mph…in a safe environment of course. Cough. They are docile for street driving though.

Try http://www.ferrarichat.com/ for more questions…that’s an enthusiast site, and while you may not find mechanics on there, you’ll certainly find owners who can clue you in on the cars.
